can i wire a 6 bulb light fixture to a wall plug in Extension cord without the ground wire?
i need to wire a 6 bulb light fixture to a extension cord so i can plug it into a wall and so the lights movable but the extension cord i bought only has the neg and positive wire can i wire this without a ground wire or do i need to go buy another extension cord?

James K is right, the safest option for fixtures and appliances is to have a ground wire. (Using extension cords long term is not ideal, safety-wise either.) But if you don't want to buy a whole new extension cord, you can also get a little converter plug that turns three-prong into two-prong.
