Frequently Asked Questions...
Have electrical fuses have auxillary contact?
If so ,how do these work?
Do you know a brand for these fuses?
(I've heared some fuses have aux contact)
Answer:
No Fuses dosent have any auxillary contacts.Only relays and circuit breakers have auxillary contacts.Fuse is just a device with a low melting point metal wire which melts when high current passes through it.It doesent have any auxillary contacts.
to be clear when current passes through a wire some heat is produced.fuse wire is so designed such that for example for 5 amps fuse the heat produced in the wire will melt that wire when 5 time the rated quantity (5X5=25) current flows through it.some of the well known brands are bussman, Schneider etc.
